I think you need the disk software from the manufacturer of the new Sata drive and it should be able to do the job...I don't think a simple copy will work.

you might try plugging in an external monitor to see if you have video output. There should be a blue Fn key on your keyboard...you hold that down and press the blue key with a monitor on it,...
