I dont see any problem with it. Its just one of those things where we are used to having things even and then as soon as there not we start thinking that there must be something wrong with doing it...

From the information given my best bet would be that it is the CPU. however it just sounds like your CPU is overheating you should not need to replace it unless the heat has done some damage to it....
