Try connecting it first in your computer. Set your new ide hdd as master in the primary controller and temporarily remove your sata drive then boot your system just to see if the bios detect your ide...

Be sure the ide hard disk drive is spinning. If not, try powering it up with different power connectors.

Are the hard disk drives c and d both sata? But like you said the d:\drive has not yet been recognized by the bios. What you need to do is unplug and plug them again all the cable and power connector...

I did that process before but sad to say I did not use the hard disk anymore after trying to partition the good side.

If I were you, do scandisk. Backup all your files first before anything else.

The drive you are working now was formatted in ntfs before so fdisk recognized it as non dos partition. You should delete the non-dos partition in fdisk. Or use a disk utility from the drive...

Not sure but it was a driver issue. You weren't able to install windows if you have a faulty hard drive. Remove the drivers or programs one by one until you find the culprit.

If your motherboard supports SATA II. I think you did not set your sata hard disk drive at 300MB/s.

Navigate to the bios. Look for the "On-Chip Serial ATA" settings I think it is under Features Setup Page and set it at "Enhanced Mode".
