Personally, I wouldn't bother with mending it.

Download "Diskeeper Lite"

It's free, a lot better, works far more quickly and doesn't keep restarting.

Simply restart (or start) your computer with the Start Up Disk in the A: drive.

I trust you do have one?

If not, then:-

"Start/Settings/Control Panel/AddRemove Programs/Start Up Disk"

Yes, of course you need drivers for an "A" drive but, as I thought I had implied, every MS Windows has them so "Add Hardware" will detect and install them (it).

Obviously a memory stick loaded...

You seem to be able to get onto the Internet OK.

All drivers are available for download. (Check with a Google search for exactly what you want).

If, perchance, you are using a different machine...
