how much ram do you have? if you have 256 mb or less you need to have at least 384mb of ram to run xp. if you have a processor lessthan 500 mhz you need at least 500 mhz. also even if you have 500mhz...

if you still have 9X hdd running as a slave then you should disconnect it and format the xp hdd and then try re installing xp
