No. It would be buying a new mobo. Only difference between that and actually buying a mobo is that i+your PC would get positive confirmation that it is a mobo that needs replacing.

SATA cables are EXTREMELY sensitive to a human touch (bare metal parts), so if you're not gonna use them, DON'T remove the wrapping.

DDR2 technology is 2-3 years old (sales-wize) and is in no way compatible with your CPU. Your only hope of getting compatible motherboard for that CPU is 2nd hand market.

Usually, the falshing program gives you option to save your current BIOS, and BIOS providers usually keep all BIOS versions.

USB sticks are pretty much the same as HDs when it comes to booting....
