ok you want more power?

get the AMD Phenom quad-core CPU. make shure its revision B3 models or you'll get hangs during gameplay.

fastest Phenom at 2.5GHz (PER CORE!)

costs are a little rough...

i hve no idea how old this thread is but here it goes,

the same thing happened to my pc, i had to replace the motherboard.

the HDD would rarely spin up and just about always didnt POST.

try borrowing a new cpu to test this out.

if it doesnt hang after a day of intensive application usgage then it is the cpu.


MAKE SHURE YOU HAVE PROPER COOLING!

1) a new mobo requires a new install of windows
(not in all cases like mine)

2) MOBO might be too old

3) install the most recent bios off a floppy from another pc.

well, i know pc's can be a expensive hobby so i sorta know what you could get for it.

i think in the range of $100-$180 AUD.

its a "ok" price.

the cpu wasnt to blame for the bottleneck!

did you download the AMD optimizer?

is your RAM a approperiate speed?
(333mhz wont do)
have you got enough ram?

i know it doesnt bottleneck...
