I don't like this idea. Better ideas include:

- Don't display the signature link if the reputation is negative.

- Remove only the links that go to sites with the primary purpose of selling.

I saw it, but it disappeared before I knew to get a screenshot. It was an ad that launched popups when the mouse rolled over it.

Why not just stop worrying about it? Post a little box above the edit window telling how to use them, and then forget it.

If they don't use the code tags, they don't use the code tags. Ignore it....

If you use the back button to return to the page with the first unread post link, it is still the copy of the page you saw before you went into a forum. You are looking at a cached page.

What you need to do is refresh the page the "first unread post" link is on before selecting the link.

Also check to see if you have cookies disabled.

It seems to be working now. I was getting a different editor I hadn't seen before at times. It had dropdown menus for text color, smileys, and attachments. And the editor selector was missing.

It works now, because the whizzywig editor is now gone.

But to get rid of the bumbles, I had to get rid of the dropdown menus, so I have to scroll to the links, so the no-scroll bug stops me until...

I think Dani is the only one who likes it.

To turn that stupid annoying thing off, I had to disable the dropdowns, which I liked. It made the site much harder to navigate.

Firefox has a built in spellchecker. But it won't work with the whizzywig editor. And somehow my account keeps getting changed back to whizzywig without my permisssion.

Part of it was also there to get rid of that maddening bumble box that follows the cursor around. It is now annoyingly BACK!

Other sites I use just have a note above the post window, reminding users to use quote or code tags. The watermark is hard to read, and is annoying.

I can't use the BBS at all with the bumbling tooltips there. It keeps me from reading the forum names correctly, by causing the same visual read errors the moving ads and the gray "Use the code tags"...

It's gone for me too, when I logged in the next time after disabling rounded corners.
