Well DIMM is just Dual Inline memory Module meaning they read and write on both edges of the clock resulting in faster data transfer. So yes if using DIMM you will have DIMM technology.

Are these pretty new computers or older.

AMD does run hot is the heatsinks clean and fans and are they rated for the CPU?

Both doing the same is pretty wierd.

Go with the Athlon 512 KB L2 cache definetly faster.

A sempron is AMD's version of intels celeron.LOL

But the Atholon for sure.make sure to get a Heat sink and fan rated for a faster chip.
