lol Truly random data wont compress if every bit of it is different. The 'break even' case is if at least half of the data bits occurred twice or more. Then RLE or a Look Up method would JUST about...

get out the pen and paper and PLAN it. trust me it saves a lot of work. Make sure everyone is doing sonething to help ie someone making data (drawing stuff, making sounds ect...) someone is coding...

I would recommend VB as IMHO working with strings is easier and GUIs are MUCH easier to code. C++ can be done, VC++ better, but it will take some time to manipulate strings
