And if you want to specify the time before the system could be restarted you can add -t xx (where xx is time) ....
example : if you want your system to immediately restart then :

you can shut down your pc from dos prompt like this :
type .... shutdown -s ( it'll give you 30 secs to save your work and then it'll shutdown)

for restart type shutdown -r
and for logoff type...

No! dismounting means that it'll disallow all io activity to that particular drive ... and if the drive cannot be dismounted then it'll ask to run disk cleanup on next boot or not.
