If you have expensive preloaded stuff I would not recomend formatting your hard drive because Windows 7 will overwrite everything. But is yor hard drive partitioned??

If you got a second computer, that can fix the errors on ya hard drive and then it should load up normally when you insert it in the orginal computer/laptop

why don't you try to charge the PSU on a different pc??

I would say burn it as an ISO on a CD so you can try it out. However if you really like it, it gives you an option to install it on to your hard drive ;)
