I got it after a couple of software fixes. It was my media software player that was not allowing me to play DD 5.1. I installed power dvd and adjusted some settings and now it works wonderfully.

What do you mean it's probably always been on ide? For the first years they owned it I was on their machine and it was in raid 1 then and working fine.

A raid one is a mirror array. What is on one is on the other. A raid 0 you would lose data but not on a raid 1. The new drive is installed and the data has been written to the new drive.

I don't run any of my machines xp, vista ultimate etc. under 2gb of ram. If you do you won't get the best of any machine. Especially for how cheap ram is. I have 4gb in my ultimate machine.

If I put in 3 sticks of memory instead of 4 into a 939 board what will happen? Will I lose any speed? Would it be better to have just 2 and make 1GB or the 3 and have 1.5GB.
