Sounds like you made your last profile private.
Easy way to get the data would be to boot from a Linux live cd and copy the data that way.
There may be another way, but this is the way I would do...

The motherboard will need the ram settings put in manually. Sounds like the current bios doesn't play with the ram well on auto. You can try to update the bios to the latest version, else you will...

Motherboard and hdd temps are fine.
Try taking the side panel off your case and see if that helps, if it does then the problem is heat related.
If not, have you updated a driver recently? That can...

Windows XP will not show more than 3.something gigs of ram due to architecture limitations.
You need to use Vista or *nix/BSD for true support of 4Gb although I believe there is a reg tweak to allow...

sis 760 is not a graphics card, it is integrated graphics and is the reason you only have 384Mb ram available when in fact you will have 512Mb in your system (the difference is utilised by the...

I've always used Corporate XP (thank you job) and made many, MANY, cpu changes.
You should uninstall the current processor in Device Manager first before swapping it out.
After that everything...

Motherboard Monitor is what I use personally. MBM5.
Can even set it up as a screen saver to let you know what's going on at a glance when you haven't been at the pc for a while.

Beeping is usually the motherboard error code.
If you have the motherboard manual you may be able to find out what the motherboard is "saying" which will point you in the right direction for fixing...

nForce4 chipsets have SATA II which support ncq so any 939 motherboard with nForce4 should be good.

And the rest.
Well said, I don't see any problem in having a cpu from either company as long as you can do what you want.

57 still seems high for me but it's a lot better than what you were getting before.
If you let the cpu heat up, is the heatsink hot to touch?
Also, check to see if there are any bios updates for...

About medium I'd say. Which is fairly decent in other words.
High end is pretty high, and low end is anything with a cpu ending with "ron" coupled with less than 512Mb of RAM.

Try a program like Everest Home Edition, it should give you the cpu temps in there.
65 deg C is a bit hot for my liking, does the case has a rear extraction fan or just one on the side?
I don't...

That all looks good. Won't be much use without a graphics card though but you already confronted that issue.
Nice heatsink btw.

PC3200 should run in there.
It'll just run at the lower bus speed, effectively making it PC2100.

Don't get a motherboard from HP, the mark up is ridiculous, considering that they purchase the same component from a 3rd party vendor that you can buy from.
(At least thats the case here in NZ).

I don't think you'll see a change between XP64 and XP32 for everyday home use.
The main increases are with things like video/audio compilation/editing, databases, anything with a lot of calculations.

FX are the top of the line processors with unlocked cpu multipliers (other A64's are unlocked downwards only).
FX's are mainly...

It all looks reasonable. (Although the attachment is a bit on the large size).
I'm not sure about the power supply, you don't want to skimp on what is essentially a major component of your system....

I only mentioned the low latency as a sidetrack, I stand by my original statement of getting 1024Mb of PC3200.
I originally got a gig of A-DATA PC3200 and it was pretty good for what I was doing....

My recommendation would be to go with 1Gb of memory over 512Mb.
Since you're not going to do any overclocking I wouldn't worry about going for some expensive ram, a generic dual channel kit should...

Then again, I have a few other duct mods than just the HSF one designed to route flow efficiently over my components.
Depends on your design I suppose.

A most important reason for choosing 939 over 754:
754 is dying. AMD will not release any more desktop cpus for 754 (except maybe another sempron? Sempron aren't really cpus.. :P)
There will still...

You can go through and test each component's maximum stable limits before making a judgement on...
