I ran Spybot and Ad-Aware and then ran HiJack this and that line was still in the log so I don't think that it can be spyware.

launcher.exe:
launcher.exe is an executable belonging to many applications including Webshots- a Windows desktop downloader, Uinterface Mouselaunch- a file and application initiator, and also a hardware interface for Samsung products. Note: launcher.exe is an advertising program by Intercort Systems. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis. This also prompts advertising popups. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system. Please see additional details regarding this process.
So as it suggests you should remove it, either using Hijack this or by doing it manually.

Do these steps in order:

1. Roll back all drivers except video
2. System restore back to at least a month ago
3. do a system recovery (full/destructive)
4. Reinstall windows with a clean installation.

Just remember NEVER to download anything off the internet unless you absolutly need it and use windows live onecare instead of AVG, as AVG is free and may itself contain a virus and fool you with it being an antivirus program. Onecare on the other hand has pc optimizer, advanced printer sharing, virus, antispyware, a defragger, and a disk cleaner.

AVG does not contain a virus I am 100% sure of it. I also am not going to do a full system recovery and reinstall windows. That is way to much work for a problem that probably can be solved without recovering.

mmm,
Have you tried a System Restore back to a point where the machine worked fine?
It may have been suggested before, but is still a good idea to try it if you haven't already.

I have the same problem occuring, But im running on AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ 2.5 GHz with 3GB Ram on Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0 Build 6000). i have nearly the same technical information STOP: codes too, but ive conversed with Windows technicians and they had me download a Blue screen error update, after i downloaded it, it didnt happend for a couple of days but its been happening again, but now with new STOP codes.. mine has been happening for almost a month now and its really starting to irritate me. My CPU Usage in windows task manager stays at a constant flux between 7% and 20% as i type now.. if i swirl my mouse around it jumps to 30%. i am starting to get to the point of wanting to Reformat the entire damn thing.. im am going to contact my technical support again about the problem with the new STOP codes and see what they can do.. if they find a solution and fix it then i will post some information about it.. if not, then HP can eat this computer and give me a new one..

I had the same Blue Screen several times. After reinstalling Windows of many times a month i've decided to try those well-known utilities which prevent Blue Screen. Likily I found what I was looking for- System Optimizer suite for Vista .

It is almost 3 month and my Vista is still working. I don't know what exactly helped me to keep it stable but you should definitely try using this well combined set of utilities.

Hope this advice will help you to forget about this terrible Blue Vista Death
