Just out of curiosity, which IDE is used by people (primaily). I myself use Blue J. This IDE was introduced to myself on my bachelors in Software design. Just wondered what you all use ............

Netbeans and Eclipse are the two dominant free ones out there which I normally use.

JBuilder. There is a free version of it.

I use Blue j which is free, I was just intrigued as to what everyone else here uses.

As I also use Oracle PL/SQL I've tended to use JDeveloper which is free from Oracle ( always a help ).

I use Netbeans. Eclipse is just fine as well, but I never really took to the Perspectives thing. Also, ctrl-k for word completion is very addictive for a lazy typist like me

lol im hearing that Ezzaral! ctrl + k is compile in blue j - handy for a lazy mouser like me !
Noone who is serious about Java uses BlueJ. It's only used by schoolteachers (who force it upon their pupils) who have no clue about Java themselves and don't want to bother with the details of the language.
If you look at professionals, it's IntelliJ, Eclipse, and to a lesser degree Netbeans (also called Notbeans by many for its lack of features and performance both) and JBuilder (loosing favour because of poor management, terrible marketing, and the decision to abandon the best IDE ever (which it was) and redo the whole thing as a bunch of Eclipse plugins when the majority of the users used it because they didn't like Eclipse).
