g4 ti will not start

Hi everybody,I'm new to this joining a community thing,but hopefully someone out there can help.I have a g4 ti/500 that all of a sudden will not start.Some of the time I get the grey apple screen but no progress indicator,a couple of times I got the indicator but it would not move on, sometimes I can hear normal start up noises but no screen image,but most of the time I get no response at all.I've tried with and without power cord- battery -using the reset button and various other thins from the appl support pages but to no avail.Is this most likely HD issue or is there some other sinister force involved? thanks
