ESS sound card problem

Hi fellow experts,
I recently bought a ESS sound card (1938-4CH) for Skype telephony call but encountered this weird problem, the other parties were unable to listen to my voice, I tried to test the voice system by speaking to the mic and I can hear from the speaker. I believe I have install the driver properly, that's why the speaker work fine.

Do I need to install any software so that the mic work fine for Skype?
I am currently running Windows 2000.

Will appreciate if some one can shed lights on how to solve this problem, thanks

Regards,
Khor

I had endless problems with the 1938 and now avoid it. Just getting it to run on any PC was a hassle. Mostly driver problems. If you get it to function correctly please post but mine was a pain.
