windows cant load or open explorer.exe!! help!!

Hi, i think you might have already sorted the inicial problem already of the black screen when starting vista, but i thought just to leave here the possible solution.
Just to make sure is the same problem we talking about i had a problem of when ever i start my vista it would open totally blank so i had to run the explorer.exe, if so this the possible solution.
1. Click the start menu and type
'regedit' and hit "Enter".
2. Naviaget to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
3. Click on "Winlogon" then locate the shell string in the right pane.
4. Double click it and replace the value with:
explorer.exe
5. Click Ok and exit regedit,
6. Reboot and you should be ok
