PoE Question

This maybe a silly question but I want to make sure before I do anything.
Im replacing a wireless access point that is powered by PoE. The new access point does not support PoE. My question is can I use the PoE infused Cat5 and plug it into the new access point or do I have to unplug the PoE injector?
