I'm a new subscriber and not a techie. I've got a rogue anti-spyware application designed to scare me into buying VirusProtect's full version with misleading warning messages that pop up on my Taskbar. It is extremely annoying and my anti spyware program, VCOM System Suite 7 professional can't detect and eliminate it. Any recommendatons?

yes, repost in the Viruses, Spyware and other Nasties forum at: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/forum64.html

and post a link to the new thread here.

Download the tool "HijackThis" , and rename it to something else .exe (Anything apart from hijackthis.exe) and choose to scan + save a log file.

Post the logfile in the new thread. Do NOT "fix" anything just yet using it.

Doesnt VirusProtect have an uninstaller?

Might want to inform your bank too, and get your card cancelled.
If i am helpful, please give me reputation points.
