Here's my opinion - make of it whatever you want:
I can understand setting up google adsense so that you can earn revenues, but putting it on the homepage front and center, and putting the google adsense links across the top in the area where category buttons would be is, to me, not clean at all and could be to your detriment. It may be smarter, especially in the beginning when you are trying to build up recognition of your website, to leave adsense off the homepage, or put it at or near the bottom. If no one ever 'takes' to your website, then adsense won't pay off any way even if it is front and center. The first key to making good money with a website, IMHO, is to make people want to come back, and to do that the site has to be super-clear and free of junky stuff like adsense.
Also, I like how you have a description of the website front and center. It helps people immediately understand where they are, and re-affirms that they are in the right place. That being said, your blurb says that it's a website with articles, videos, and much more. For one, I normally stay away from saying much more - it sounds fake imho, and it will only help if you very clearly define what the user can expect. Secondly, you are saying in this site-describing blurb that the website is all about articles, videos, etc. Yet I didn't see any links that say 'articles' or 'videos'. So it was a little confusing for me, because the key things you tell the visitor to expect, it's not clear to every visitor how to access.
Ok, that stuff being said, I like the concept of the bottom half of the page, and like the layout. Looks like fresh, updated content, and it's clean and well-organized. To me, those article updates should be at the top.
That's my limited perspective. Don't forget I'm just a stench off the streets, so my input may not mean much to you.
