No Audio Device - Dell Latitide D610

I have a Dell Latitude D610 working on XP. Some of the time I will have sound and then other times I do not. When taking a look at the Sound and Audio Device in the Control Panel I do not have a Audio Device when it is not working.

I do not have a lot of experience with Audio problems, so I hope someone can help me.

have you tried to uninstall & reinstalling the driver for your sound card?
