High Cpu Usage Using Wmp??

Hi all,
I am new to the forum and I am having a problem with a high CPU usage while operating WMP 11. It starts off low but after a minute it soars to between 80 - 100%! I have scanned and defragged, cleaned the registry and the problem still exists?!?!? Any ideas out there? I do have about 50Gigs of music but my hard drive is not even half full.
I am running XP media center. Thanks!
