Having great difficulty with configuring IIS for ASP.Net application

I get the following message when trying to run my application:

Server Error in '/' Application
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely ...

Yet, I can access the htm files. I can not access the aspx files for some odd reason or other.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

found it!
you need - to run aspnet_regiis.exe -i
It's under: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727>apsnet_regiis.exe -i
YOU NEED TO RUN THIS FIRST OR YOU WILL SPEND HOURS BANGING YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE WALL!
seems as though my ASP.net engine needed some tlc for some odd reason.
Working now!

running the aspnet_regiis should not be necessary if the .Net Framework was installed properly on the server.

A common error in these cases if an incorrect customErrors web.config section, insufficient user right, or an incorrect authetication method.

(...and then this post may belong in the asp.net forum? )
