I'm getting so frustrated. Here is what I try to accomplish:
a clean install of the x64 Version Windows XP on my newly built PC, where I disconnected my Sata 750Gb disk to avoid further complications, since there is Linux resides on it, but not in NTFS format.
Now I'm describing what I already did and what I'm doing now:
I use a 300 GB IDE drive to setup Windows, I've the right CD with x64 version,
I can start the Windows Setup from the CD and get to the point where Windows ask me to restart.
I allocated a 100GB partition for the set up and quick formatted at this time. *I also full formatted it at other, not working times. So its not a Format issue. At least I think. BTW I also tried to refresh mbr by trying to set up, without success.
Setup copied the basic files.
Now I get to the point where it asked me to restart.
It gets me to the Bios - Verifying DMI Pool Data
Boot from CD-DVD
Press any key to boot from CD.....
and after that nothing happens
I even tried to change the boot sequence to boot first from the HD
It just hangs either after the DMI or any key Message.
Do you have any suggestions what can I do to solve this problem?

here are a few things you have to do first. the IDE drive have to be set as the primary drive, and it MUST be set as the first boot option or press F8 at the bios screen to get the boot menu then select the IDE drive to boot from. HOWEVER, the drive Partition you are installing to MUST be set as the primary active partition. you would have to use some 3rd party program to accomplish this, Acronis, Partition magic, or Fdisk.
