I recently hooked up my laptop to my PC to transfer some files. I'm using My Network Places, and am a newbie to this. Are there any programs that can do the same thing but easier and with more options?

What options exactly do you need to transfer your files?

If you want to access your pc from your laptop, here's the shortcut .. just type the following command in your Run dialog.

\\yourPCName
Where yourPCName is the name of your PC.
If you want to know the name of your PC, just right click My Computer --> Properties --> Computer Name. You can find the full computer name there.

That's handy, thanks. I guess I was wondering if there was any alternative software.

I've discovered that by going to My Computer > Tools > Map Network Drive that I can individually select the hard drives on my PC for easy access in My Computer.

So problem solved, I guess.
