Network Drive Mapping

I am having many problems mapping to a drive on another subnet. The computer that i am trying to map is not showing any workgroups, nor when I go to choose the Drive and the file name under "Map network drive" on my computer. All of our machines have XP PRO service pack 2 and it just keeps giving me an error saying that there is no network available. ANY HELP????

There are 4 ports which has to be open for Win Xp workgroup networking:

udp 137
udp 138
tcp 139
tcp 445

Ckeck your Xp firewall.

I think that the XPs firewall opens those ports only for its own subnet.
If you can show how are your Local networks configured (IPs, getways) I can be more specific.
Try find in firewall file and printersharing and show how it is configured.

two subnets are connected by a router usually. netbios traffic is not routable.
try to map to an IP, not the hostname first
