How to freeze first boot screen

Just built my new PC. 3.3 gig, Celeron D, MSI P4M900M3 motherboard. How can I freeze the first boot screen? It comes and goes so fast, I can't read it.

Pause/Break usually works.

while booting up, press pause/break and it will freeze the screen as long as you like!
