I am brand new to this forum so I hope everyone will be patient with me. In the past two weeks I've come across three things that have me concerned.

1. My system resources (ram & cpu) seem to be peaking far too often and often with only a single program running - like an antivirus scan, etc.

2. Have read recently that 3-letter exe's are viral. Two days ago I had one called tnp.exe running that was taking up about 35% of my cpu and now can see alg.exe and cfp.exe under processes. Are these viruses?

3. My object dock and various shortcuts (mostly for antivirus & antispyware) keep disappearing from my desktop or tray. I will include my HijackThis log below. Thank you for any help.
