dual moniters slow games?

i heard rumors that if u are dual wielding monitors and playing a heavy game on one monitor, and you have the slightest bit of graphic processing on the other monitor, your game will lag tremendously. is this true? why?

this is true for SLI rigs because SLI is turned off when dual monitors are used. something to do with windows display programming...

not really, the GPU doesnt suffer much if the games configuration is set for multiple display enhancement in Nvidia control panel.

i only have one 9800GTX and it runs perfectly with dual displays while gaming.

but with SLI (2 GPU'S in 1pc) one tends to turn off.
