Getting Started with asp.net

  #1
May 2nd, 2008
I'm just getting started with asp.net. Currently I'm using visual web developer express and sql server express.

I've created a small project but find when I run it in debug mode it works great. When I try to access it from another browser window I can as long as I use the same port and the sql server express is running and if I try to access it over the Internet I have nothing but trouble.

Can anyone tell me where to go from here? I'm figuring I'll need to purchase a regular copy of visual studio and sql server, but I need someone to point me in the right direction.
