Can't start Windows

When I start my computer everything loads normally, up until past the first loading screen of windows, after that the windows logo appears with the blue background and just stays there nothing else will load.

I have tried all the alternative start ups, like safe mode and the latest working configuration but the same thing happens everytime.

Is there anyway i can fix this without having to re-install windows or deleting my hard drive.

Thanks

Boot to your WinXP CD and try to repair your installation.
