Hi Guys.

I'm in the process of moving to San Francisco, CA and I will be roaming around the city from time-to-time with my laptop. I plan on utilizing my laptop at WiFi hotspots located around the city.

I've never done this before and I have heard that there is a risk involved with using free WiFi at hotspots. How can I protect myself (my laptop) at these hotspots in-terms of internet security w/o paying for it (eg. setting-up my laptop for protection)?

Apologies as, I am not IT savvy concerning this matter.

I look forward to a response with some instruction/direction at some point before my move at the end of June.
