I have a G4 that is not booting. I turn it on and it beeps once. The power light on the tower randomly fades in and out along with the light on the monitor. I tried to boot from OS 10.3 (Panther) disc, to only get the same result. The screen never turns on. It just remains black. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray

I bet that it is not flashing randomly, but 3 times followed by a pause, three times again.
Or two times for that matter, the flashing light are error indicators. 3 times means, no valid ram detected. Should that be ( and most often is ) the case, take out all ram.
Clean the bricks ( golden contacts ) with the hard part of a rubbergum. The reset the first
ram bricks and try starting ( even on low ram ) continue one by one, and find an eventually broken brick.
best, redage
