I'm the proud mama of an iMac, two PCs (sharing one monitor), an Epson perfection scanner, a MagiColor 2550 color laser printer, and a fax machine. My iMac works great in conjunction with the scanner and printer. PCs are all fudged up.
To complicate matters, I have a KVM switch, which allows me to use the two computers with one monitor, one keyboard and one mouse.
To complicate matters further, I use a track ball AND Wacom tablet with the PC, and a mouse AND Wacom tablet with the iMac.
At one point, I had everything connected perfectly. Then I got a new PC, gave an older one to my baby girl, and musta did something wrong, because now my PCs don't turn on because the keyboard and mouse somehow lost their correct connection, ergo, I can't even hit the hot key to move between the two PCs.
I need a schematic DESPERATELY! It has been so long since I set it up the CORRECT way (3 years mebbe), that right now I'm totally ferblungent just thinking about it again.
I am 72, definitely an authentic computer geek (which I discovered only 20 years ago), and in love with the whole science. I need your help. I hope I explained myself well.
So please take pity on an old (not) woman! I just need a schematic--that's it; I'm a very visual person. Once I see it, I can do it! Of course, if that isn't the most judicious solution, or if that isn't your way, I can follow text instructions very well.
Thank you from the bottom of my being. I miss the compatible relationship my computer equipment USED to have.
Cynthia/Mommosan
p.s. I almost forgot... my router is a three-port (scream) wireless, so I purchased a Netgear Mbps Switch for additional ports, and a Belkin USB to router extension, for when I get my dRobo. Now THAT's exciting.
