Cannot Browse with IE

Hi,

I posted this in the wrong forum... this is a repost.

If I open internet explorer it will go to my homepage (yahoo). I can type and go to a few sites like MSN, Myspace, Google. But, If I search on any of these and try to click the link to go to a site it says "Internet Explorer Cannot Display Page" Also, if I type a specific address in other than the few listed above, it returns like a search... I typed in microsoft.com in the web address and it brought up the Yahoo search page with search results.

I am not sure if this is a virus or a simple setting. I had deleted her antivirus to load the new one but cannot even do that at this point. I had a link in an email but it wont display that page either.
