Im trying to transfer some data from my old Western Digital 30G hard drive to my new Maxtor 80G SATA drive. When i hook up the old drive in my new comp, as a Primary Slave, i cannot get i to boot from my Maxtor, and it actually dosent even recognize my Maxtor drive at all. If any one has any insite on this issue it would be appretiated. Thanks

be sure the settings on the Maxtor are set to Master. If it is usually a single drive in the system, then it does not need to be set up. When you added the old drive as a Primary slave, the Maxtor needs to be set to master. Good luck

You'll need the SATA drivers for your chipset for the OS to recognize that the drive is even there.

This will depend on your motherboard, or less likely, an add-on PCI card.
