Help Start Menu Refresh 'malfunctioning'?

  #1
Oct 24th, 2004
Hi. I have a question regarding updating Windows NT Start Menu hopefully there's someone out there who could help me out :o

When I ran a .bat file simply to update the Start Menu (say adding an extra file option), I noted that there are some PCs that doesn't get to see Start Menu updates even with a refresh but till I logoff and re-login whereas the rest of the PCs would get to view the Start Menu updates almost instantly when I open a new Explorer.

What is the likely cause for the former response? and how can I get over this problem? Pardon my guessing, but has this got anything to do with registers? any online web link that I can find out more on registers stuffs? Am gg crazy with the odd response....
