old video camera hook up to computer

Can i buy an attachment to hook my older video camera up to the computer directly. It currently has the plug in audio and video cables for tv etc. Is there some sort of adapter and is it worth doing so i can put my videos direct onto DVD.

you need a video card /capture card ,plus software to capture video ,in the computer to hook the camera to
search video capture in www.google.com

I've just purchased DVD Maker USB 2.0 for £23 from misco.co.uk and works fine all software incl.
