Infrastructure Engineer (WebLogic)
For our client, a well known and respected financial organization in Rockville, MD, we are in search of an Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in WebLogic:
Position: Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Rockville, MD
Duration: 9-12 "+" months
Essential Job Functions:
Support the infrastructure hardware and software in a large-scale software development environment. Planning physical deployment of applications and application upgrades on UNIX/Windows platforms and selecting 3rd party software. Coordinating deployment with data center staff. Providing architectural planning and oversight for solutions implementation. Troubleshooting application outages by providing 3rd tier support, including some limited after-hours support as needed. Analyzing complex business problems and producing systems designs and technical design documents to address business needs. Applying specific and detailed knowledge of internet applications and world wide web technologies to the design and development of complex systems and business tasks. Providing daily consultation to developers and testers in order to facilitate appropriate technical solutions to complex problems. Working with the application development team, operations team, and business stakeholders to ensure continued successful deployment and operation of the portfolio.
Education/Experience Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in computer science or equivalent.
* Must have 4-5 years hands-on experience with Windows Servers and Linux or Solaris.
* Expertise in WebLogic including performance tuning, optimization and configuration and support.
* Experience working with IIS and Oracle databases preferred.
* Experience with configuring and administering web and messaging applications desired.
* Strong familiarity with TCP/IP networking.
* Scripting on both UNIX and Windows platforms.
* Good technical communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to work in fast paced production environment.
