Can You Spot Any Problems on InventorSpot.com

Our website InventorSpot.com is the most popular invention related website in the world. (There are not that many invention sites out there.)

We have a ton of original high quality content, and we are looking for ways to increase the visibility of our site and our articles. We have some really interesting stuff but how do we do a better job getting our content out there?

We currently rank in the top 1000 or so on Technorati.com and top 16,000 or so on Alexa.com. We'd like to do a lot better.

We need your help and a fresh set of eyes.

What are we doing well and not so well on our site?
What are the key things we should be working on next?
What do you think we should be doing in terms of SEO and other perhaps obvious basics we may be missing?

Having worked so much on this site, I think have become blinded to some obvious flaws and gaps in what we are doing.

Anything big or little things we are missing? Any little tricks you can suggest to take us to the next level?

Your feedback would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your time!!

I'm using ff3 with high speed and when I pulled up your site, it wouldn't stop loading. I mean the home page is clearly loaded, I can see all of your content as well as the footer but my browser is still spinning as I'm writing this post, don't know if that's on your end or mine, but I'm guessing yours because I don't have that problem anywhere else. On IE6 it was like I saw your page right away, but when I scrolled, it disappeared and it is clearly having the loading issue as well.

Thanks so much for this comment. We were not aware of this problem and will definitely check it out.

One of the biggest issues we are having is understanding why we only have a Google PR of 4.

Is there something we are doing on our site that is killing our page rank? Is there anything that we can do to improve it?

Thanks,

John

Google page rank is completely irrelevant and meaningless.
Go here, read the articles , subscribe to the newsletter and look at the forum:

SEO is hard work, but the rules are clear. Roll up your sleeves and go to work.
I don't like that much vertical scrolling.

Thanks for the info on continuous loading. We are looking into it. It seems like it is from one of our external advertisers.
