303-Keyboard Controller Error

I just moved my computers to a larger space. When I set up one of my computers it didn't find the mouse so I shut the system down. When I restarted it the error message referred to in the title popped up.

303-Keyboard Controller Error
This is an unrecoverable error. Your computer needs servicing.

Compaq Presario 5400
Celeron 1.2 GHz
128 Sync Ram
The Op Sys is XP Home

Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix the problem?

1. make sure the keyboard and mouse are in the correct ports.
2. try replacing the keyboard and mouse
if replacing the keyboard doesn't work you need a new motherboard
