error installing netbeans..help plzz

I get the following error while trying to install netbeans 6.1 on my laptop :
An unexpected exception happened in thread Thread -4
Exception:
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError:
null

There is nothing wrong with the installer I think.I've installed with the same file on my desktop and there was no problem.Both machines are running XP Professional.I'm running jdk 6 update 6 on both of them.Also there is no problem with using java based applications like Azureus. Please help.
