We have a compaq presario V4000 laptop that my hubby uses for email and my 10 year old uses to play Runescape. One of the hinges on the case just broke, the LCD screen is showing lines in it and we're missing a few keys..... EXCEPT: It runs great for what it's used for! I also don't want to buy a new laptop just for games and email. So - from a complete non-technie - here are my questions.
I want to know how difficult it would be to find a case (the screen and keyboard area) and just move our hard drive, battery, etc over to the new case?
Would I have to move the motherboard (I don't even know where this is)?
Are there instructions for how to do this somewhere - I've searched through google and can't seem to find anything really good.
If it's not difficult or expensive, how do I find a good new case?
Thanks to all who can help. I appreciate the input.
Linda
