pbr 2 error plus dead CD drive

Jul 17th, 2008
Hi all I found this site searching for answers to the PBR2...done problem and found the solution, but when i tried booting from CD I figured out the CD drive does not work. The only other boot option is Onboard NIC and I hve no idea how i would go about doing that.

I ran the dell diagnostics and apperently the CD drive problem is a firmware problem, any ideas of how to get this machine to boot.

Its a dell e1505 notebook.
