I am looking into the idea of creating a standalone chat client for windows. I have no programming experience and am looking for direction as to where I can go to find people who can help me.
Also does anyone have an idea of what bandwidth costs, with about 5000 users initially, would be? That chat client would support both a buddy list style, with user to user chat, and also chatroom style chat as well. I assume the server would be running 24 hrs a day, any ideas on the cost per month?
Any other things I should consider?
