CPU use stuck at 100%

Sometimes when i open internet explorer it opens 63 times and i cant stop it. If i do manage to close some of them it still wont stop until it opens 63 times. Also i have noticed that even when i do close all of them my CPU usage in windows task manager is stuck at 100%! I have also experienced very slow overall performance from my PC. I have run spysubtract, adaware, spybot search and destroy, and norton antivirus with nothing bad showing up. I am sending my hijack this log to see if anyone can help me. I really appreciate any help I can get.

I had a problem similar to yours. When you look at the taskmanager under the processes tab what is taking up all o the cpu. You should also look at the other forums that are already going on with this problem b/c there are a lot.
If it is the same problem, and when u give me the info I can tell u if it is, I had to do a system repair using the windows xp cd, from ur hijack this log i can see you have either a compaq or an HP which has a system restore built into it. I assume that the problem I had was a system file that was corrupt.

lol i cant get it to do it now! but the things on my processes list that are using the most memory are iexplore.exe (23,328), svchost.exe(20,948). The thing with internet explorer poping up 63 times hasnt happened lately but my system is still running very poorly. Could someone who knows how to interpuret the info from my hijackthis log plz tell me if there is something that needs fixed PLZ? and yes i have a presario and i have system recovery but really really really dont want to resort to that. I have also alredy tried a system restore, i went back like a whole month with no improvement at all.

another thing i forgot to mention is that a bout a week ago i was infected by something called Z-Demon and that when it all went bad. I downloaded a patch for spybot search and destroy and got rid of it but only after many unsuccesful tries without the patch because it just said error during scan and stoped on Z-Demon every time. But as i said i eventually got rid of it but im afraid the damage might have already been done
