DSL connection issue

ok i just moved and got my DSL set up here but i am having a major problem that i or my DSL provider can not figure out..ok its windows XP if you go in to control panel network connections there is lan and high speed connection under that has the name of my net adapter i use to be able to set my dsl up that way and connect but now i can set it up that way it say connected but no pages loaded nothing..i have to go to create a new connection use the wizard and set up a new connection under broadband only way i can get on the net..why is it that the lan /high speed 1 dont seem to work no more like its dead its connected but dead it seems realy strange any help would be great thanks alot...
