Protecting folders / scripts on a web server

  #1
Aug 20th, 2008
Hi,
I have created a content management system using ASP and .net which I intent to sale to web designers.

The files are located in a folder on the server which means that customers could download them, make a few changes to them and use them for another site without going through me.

I want to stop that and the idea I have would be to password protect the 2 folders where all scripts are located and using a system of cross reference with another database to block copying the system.
The idea would be that people could not access the files without the password but the browser couldin order to function.

Would any one have any idea on how to achieving this?

Many thanks
